March 28, 2025 - For the second year in a row, the Comal ISD wrestling season ended with a state champion from Smithson Valley High School along with 24 state qualifiers from all four high school programs in the district.
This year, SVHS junior Bryce Palmer became the state 5A UIL wrestling champion in the 150-pound weight class, and he along with all state-level competitors were recognized by the Comal ISD Board of Trustees on March 27.

Arriata was named the 5A District tournament Girls Coach of the Year as well as the Regional Girls Coach of the Year.
