August 18, 2026 - The Texas Education Agency (TEA) publicly posted the 2026 A-F Academic Accountability Ratings for Texas public schools on Friday. These ratings are available now on txschools.gov.
Once more, Comal ISD increased its overall grade for the 2025-2026 school year, receiving an 88 or B rating and making it the only public school district with more than 1,500 students in Region 20 that has increased its overall grade every year since 2023.

Accountability ratings are based on three domains: Student Achievement, School Progress, and Closing the Gaps.
Comal ISD 2026 Accountability Highlights
- 'B' rating for Comal ISD with an 88
- 18 campuses earned an A; 14 campuses earned a B
- Comal ISD campuses earned a total of 94 distinctions
- 18 campuses earned the Postsecondary Readiness distinction
- Davenport High School earned all 7 distinctions and an overall A with 95, an increase of 7 points from last year
- Bill Brown Elementary and Hoffmann Lane Elementary earned all 6 distinctions
- Farias-Spitzer, Mountain Valley, Rahe Bulverde, Rebecca Creek and Specht Elementary campuses received 5 out of 6 distinctions each, and Hill Country College Preparatory High School received 6 out of 7 distinctions
